Chelsea Kolman began her riding career at the age of five. Initially focusing on Hunter/Jumpers, she switched to Eventing thanks to her coach, Cathy Wieschhoff. Her longtime partner, Dauntless Courage, was initially purchased as a barely broke three-year-old. Together, Chelsea and “Dante” have slowly worked their way up to the Advanced level and in 2015 had a pivotal year where they competed for Area VIII at the North American Junior & Young Rider Championships. 2016 was another successful season for Chelsea and Dante, being named 2016 USEA Young Riders Champion and 2016 USEA Intermediate Horse Champion.
Unlike other programs in the area, Chelsea focuses on the unwanted horse and building confidence in the rider. Horses come in all shapes, sizes, breeds, and disciplines and because of this, Chelsea will take on the dangerous horse, the blind horse, the broken horse, and really just any horse. No horse goes unnoticed in her program, and Chelsea prides herself on listening to each individual animal.
